Membership Sections
The Virginia Land Title Association has three membership sections of the Association: an Underwriter Section, an Agent Section, and an Examiner Section, each represented by the members of the respective classification. Members of any classification may attend any section meeting and participate in on-going discussions; but, only members with the appropriate section designation shall be permitted to vote on resolutions brought by the section.
Underwriter Section
A. Promote the general welfare of its members in pursuit of the objects and purposes of the Association, which may include, but not be limited to, holding meetings and discussing matters related thereto. However, the Underwriter Section may not issue any statement or communication, public or private, which does not clearly indicate that said statement or communication reflects only the opinion of the Underwriter Section and may not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Association, unless prior approval of said statement or communication has been obtained from the Board of Directors;B. Review and act on recommendation of the special committees appointed by the Chairperson of the Underwriter Section;
C. Employ professional assistance, when appropriate, in pursuit of the objectives of the Section, as long as it is not in conflict with the objectives of the Association;
D. Make recommendations to the Board for its consideration and action.

Agent Section
The purpose of the Agent Section is to provide a platform for settlement agents and processors can express their concerns, ideas, and initiatives that will assist in creating and encouraging the advancement of the industry’s credibility, continuity and sustainability. By meeting as a Section, we can share our successes, and explore concepts that will assist the title industry forward through the next generation.The Agents Section meets via conference call on:

Title Examiner Section
The goal of the title examiner section is to be able to provide a voice for the title examiner’s to the Title Insurance and Settlement community. In return we are hoping to absorb as much information as to the needs of our title industry to be able to incorporate into our daily title examiner duties.
