Course Details

The 16-Hour Course is delivered in eight video units which explain each concept covered in the content outline promulgated by the Virginia Bureau of Insurance as well as learning checks to ensure you are progressing with the knowledge you need to pass the exam. Each unit is self-paced, which means you can do as much or as little as you’d like at a time, anytime of day. You can pick up where you left off at your own convenience on any device just by logging in. At the end of the course, you will have access to study questions to prepare for the exam. Once you have successfully completed all portions of the class, you will be able to print the required course completion paperwork so that you can sit for the exam. You are also welcome to contact our instructor at any time during the course to ask questions one on one - YES! That's right! You'll have live instructor interaction at your disposal throughout the course by phone or email. Learn at your own pace. Study conveniently with our online questions and course manual. Course Content
VLTA's title insurance pre-licensing course follows the approved examination content outline published by the Virginia Bureau of Insurance. Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to check your progress and understanding of the materials through a series of learning checks. No other program offers pre-testing services & progress checks! Study materials are available for purchase and refer to each point on the exam content outline, so that you will have an opportunity to learn about, practice, and question each exam topic.

Instructor

Virginia Land Title Association is proud to announce the engagement of our new title insurance pre-licensing instructor, Kevin T. Pogoda, Esq., VCTE, VCTSA, President of Virginia Land Title Association. Born in Santa Monica, California, Kevin Pogoda grew up in Southern California. A graduate from the University of California at Berkeley with degrees in Rhetoric (honors) and Legal Studies (high honors), Kevin completed his law school education at the University of California School of Law in 1994. After law school, Kevin worked in several firms located in New Jersey, Virginia and the District of Columbia. While in private practice, Kevin’s experience included SEC compliance, Indian gaming law, commercial litigation, labor and employment law, and not-for-profit litigation. Kevin has taken and passed the bar exams for California, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland. In 1998, Kevin began his career as a settlement attorney at a prominent settlement company located in Annandale, Virginia. While in that position, Kevin performed approximately 3,000 settlements and focused on 1031 Exchanges and resolving title issues. Since May 2006, Kevin has been with Old Republic National Title Insurance Company and now serves as Vice President and Virginia State Manager, Northern Division. Kevin has presented on numerous occasions for the VLTA and the Virginia State Bar and prides himself on making learning enjoyable. You will laugh and learn with Kevin.

Notes: You may work at your own pace through the required course materials. There is no limit on the number of sessions you may complete in each day. At the beginning of the course you will be required to furnish evidence of identity to unlock the course content; you will be asked to scan a photo ID and email or fax it to our office to receive the "unlock" code. You must work through all course materials in the required order; no session will be unlocked until the previous requirements have been completed. Each section of the course will require both an "attention check" and a "learning check" which must be completed to open the next section. The practice examination is optional. Upon completion of Unit 8, you will be issued the required paperwork for submission to the examination center. This course satisfies the requirements under Virginia § 38.2-1814.1 for title insurance pre-licensing education.
