Mission Statement

The mission of the Virginia Land Title Association (VLTA) is to promote communication and to provide education througout the real estate industry. The mission includes promoting standards and regulations that increase the effectiveness of the industry. Legislative initiatives and educational programs are primary aspects of the VLTA's work. Leadership in ethical practices and standards is an integral part of its members' businesses, within the land title industry in Virginia.

Membership includes a year's subscription to the VLTA Examiner, discounted registration to all Virginia Land Title Association events and meetings, access to the members only side of the web site, and more!

45% of your dues is allocated to lobbying expenses and is not tax deductible. Consult your accountant or tax attorney for more information. New Members may prorate their first payment based on the actual receipt of payment accordingly: July 1st through December 1st -- 50% reduction on total dues.

Licensed Agent or Agency Membership

Agent/Agency Membership is restricted to business entities that primarily engage and are legally qualified to engage in the business of land title evidencing as title insurance agent.

Dues are based on the average number of employees (all staff) in the last calendar year.

Membership includes all staff employed by the membership holders company. Membership holder can add/delete staff by updating their profile on line.

 Underwriter Membership

Underwriter Membership is restricted to business entities who are authorized to act as a title insurer in the State of Virginia.

Dues are based on Form 9, gross premiums received for the previous calendar year in Virginia.

If sales are less than $2,000,000 - remit $1000, plus $250 per each additional $550,000 in gross premiums.
If sales are greater than $10,000,000 - remit $5000.

Associate Member Company - $350

This membership is reserved for those firms engaged in providing services to the land title industry. Examples of such firms are attorneys, surveyors, automation vendors, counsels to lends or life insurance companies, governmental agencies, business consultants, etc. Employees or principals may not hold a title insurance agent's license.  Membership includes all staff employed by the membership holders company. Membership holder can add/delete staff by updating their profile online.

Abstractor/Examiner Company Membership -- $165

Abstractor Membership is restricted to business entities that primarily engage in the business of examining title.
Membership includes all staff employed by the membership holders company. Membership holder can add/delete staff by updating their profile on line.
